Current | Fall '06 | Spring '06

This spring hair trends are all about looking uncoiffed and modern. Gone are the tight, proper chignons and in their place are soft voluptuous curls and loose deconstructed styles. At the Alberta Ferretti show (starting from far left) they showed hair with lots of texture, inspired by the rough unfinished edges of their clothes. Roberto Cavalli showed supersoft sexy curls flowing from center parts. Doo.Rie showed models with intricate twists that came together low on the knape of the neck, producing a soft almost ethereal effect. Versace kept it simple with long beautiful hair reminiscent of the seventies.

Top 5 Trends for Spring

Big Belts- As shown above at Fendi (far left), it’s all about cinching things in at the waist. Whether it’s with bold and sexy red leather or soft black velvet, it’s the new proportion for spring.

Shorter Shorts- Models sported shorter silhouettes for the spring/summer collections. Zac Posen (above, 2nd to left) as well as many other designers showed cuffed shorts. For effortless chic, pair them with a cropped jacket or a button down vest.

In the buff- Nude is the new neutral this season as shown by Calvin Klein (center). Pair it with black to make it the perfect choice for evening.

Baby-Doll- Flashback to the sixty’s with a baby-doll dress that was a huge trend on the runways for spring. Soft and sweet or flirty and fun it’s a sure way to show off your style. Shown here (2nd to right) by Burberry Prorsum.

Long and Lean- This seasons must-have pant, is very tailored and fitted. It comes to the ankle or just below and cuts a very impressive silhouette. Shown above by Narciso Rodriguez (far right).

The Seasons Hottest Accessories

This season the hottest shoes are not the skinny heeled stiletto of the past but instead super high chunky wedges, shown above (far left) by Chloe’. If you prefer a more conventional heel go for a thicker higher version as shown by Gucci (center). Mix it up with platforms and fun colors but remember keeping the heel high does us all a favor especially with the shorter hemlines shown this spring.

As heels are getting higher, designer bags are getting smaller (far right) as shown by Channel. Small and chic and perfect for the it-girl that you are!
